Machinima Expo Submissions are Now Closed

Submissions for the 2008 Machinima Expo are now closed. We are meeting to choose which films will be screened at the November 9th event (in Second Life) and which films to send to our jury.

We’d like to thank everyone who submitted their film. We had over a hundred entries and the quality was quite high all around. It’s really something to watch so many films and to see the variety of ideas both in style and content. I’m usually a cynic, but watching so many good films and films just on the verge is very encouraging.

We’ll announce the films that will be screened ASAP. The juried films will take a bit more time, but we’ll get them up as soon as we’ve decided.

One thing we are kicking around is offering an honest critique for each film that was submitted, providing the director is interested, of course. This is something I don’t believe has been offered in any other festival. Since it will take a lot of time to do this, we are discussing it at our next big Expo meeting in a few days. I’ll post here what came up with.
