Machinima Expo 2 to take place in November 09

After discussions with Phil Rice, we’ve decided that we definitely want to create another Machinima Expo for 2009. Of course, it will be a much scaled-down version from the all day affair of Nov. 2008, but we hope to provide several hours of panels, discussions and movies. We will have another juried competition and will announce details of submissions in July or August.

It looks like Second Life is still the location of choice. We hope to spend considerable time getting the scheduling right so that people from the UK will have an easier time coming to the various events.

At this point, Damien Valentine, Phil Rice and myself (Ricky Grove) are the main organizers. Ingrid Moon is currently working her butt off at Disney and extends her regrets that she won’t be able to help. Fingers crossed that she can come to the event as she did such an excellent job on the “Women in Machinima” panel.

We are also going to try to work with the larger New York Machinima Festival on scheduling and perhaps some cross-over events. We’ll see.
