Deadline for Expo Submissions Extended to October 7th
What a busy week for us here at the Expo. Films to screen, programming to finalize and big meeting today with Eddie Dugan and Redek from University Campus Suffolk on logistics for the Expo on November 22nd. We worked out all of the changes we needed (thank you, Eddie) and got some ideas for setting up groups we are inviting to the Expo. Handled a near disaster when hundreds of prims on the main building simply disappeared. Thank God, Linden Labs is smart and figured out a way to roll back the structure to before we messed it up. Breathing a sigh of relief on that one.
But to the point; we have decided to extend the machinima submission deadline to Wednesday, October 7th, or one full week. The original deadline was set for Wednesday, September 30th. We feel that there might be filmmakers who are struggling to finish up their film and just need a little extra time. We are also hoping to reach out to some Asian filmmakers in the extra time as well.
We sincerely thank all of you who submitted films to the Expo this year. We have surpassed last years entries in both quantity and quality. Of course, this makes our job of screening the films that much harder. I’ll be posting a permanent statement on how we screen films at the Expo sometime in the next two weeks. We want everyone to know how we go about choosing the films we do.
Here are some pix from our meeting today in Second Life.
